
GANG MEMBER PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES
Gulfport, Miss - Vertis Raymond, 28, of Biloxi, pled guilty in federal court on August 7, 2012, to the charge of felon in possession of a firearm, United States Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced.
Raymond, a member of the Simon City Royals criminal street gang, known as “Sir Junior”, will be sentenced on November 7, 2012 by Senior U.S. District Judge Walter J. Gex III, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. He signed a preliminary order of forfeiture to forfeit one Raven Arms Model MP-25 pistol.
This case was investigated by the Biloxi Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams.
